It's hard for me to admit, but we're done with international adoption. Well, Kit is 100% done with it, and I am getting there. Our I-171h was due to expire yesterday, and we let it happen. It is the document from the U.S. State Dept. that gives us permission to bring an orphan into the country. It's the very first thing to apply for when planning an international adoption. We have been living with international adoption planning, hoping and dreaming for over 4 years, so it's a big change to just let it drop.
In general, for any feasible countries, we're either too old, not perfect enough, don't have enough money, or can't travel the length of time required.
Well, that leaves us with domestic. Which gives me a stomach ache, because it is so open-ended.
i like your header image! It's an open road and you will find the right path. :)
ReplyDeleteJeanne, find yourself a good agency or attorney, and it isn't too bad. We thought we were too old, and we already had a kid. It was no problem at all.
